  The sand in this park is very fine and was a test from AVCA at one point. I too find it very fine and it gets in your eyes when it's windy, also in my dogs eyes, so children must be irritated by it as well. WE got new swings so that problem is resolved. As far as the hole in the shade structure, I would like to see signs posted that if you see anyone climbing on the shade structures to call the police as they are the ones ripping them and it costs so much money to replace them.

  The Aliso Viejo Community Association looked into the sand in Westridge Park, and although it does seem to have a different "powdery" quality, it is still acceptable for playground use. It's safe...just a little different than the other parks.
